How to build a quality prospect list and cold email prospects. When building a list, I find that it’s easier to build the list from scratch. This way, I know exactly where the data is coming from and that it’s fresh. Many B2B databases have expired leads, so you may spend a lot of time cold emailing or cold calling dead-end leads.
List building is always easiest when you pick one industry and one location. You can either start on Google or LinkedIn to get the list of company names. After that, you want to collect the decision-maker’s contact info. It’s always important to have someone to ask for, rather than just contacting the business as a whole.
You can often outsource this list building work. I use Upwork to find talent, and then provide a quick training video on how exactly I ant them to collect data. It’s important for your list builder to have tools that help find emails, including Hunter.io, Rapportive, LinkedIn premium, Hubspot, etc.
